TEMP...“Regret” is Kate Chopin’s short story about a fiftyish, unmarried woman who becomes responsible for the care of her neighbor’s four children. But of course it's about so much more! Themes of loss, loneliness, detachment, commitment, love, independence and responsibility. Mamzelle AurélieIt has no regrets about her silitude, it's as if she has escaped a life of femaile-expectation and thrown all her energies into trying to be a successful farmer. The farm has all of her attention, until the children arrive.
